In front of the old fortress you will find the only Cricket field in Greece due to British influence. You will have the chance to stroll around its narrow streets (kantounia),visit the Saint Spiridon church. Later we visit Kanoni area where you can enjoy a cold drink while taking photos of the famous Pontikonisi ,the small island symbol of Corfu. Afterwards visit of Mon Repos Palace the place where Prince Phillip was born. Following the road to the south nearby to small villages half hidden among the olive groves arrival to the pretty village of Gastouri, which still retains some of the old world charm that inspired the Empress Elisabeth ( the legendary Sissy ) to build her dream Palace in the eighteen nineties. Walk in the romantic gardens with its many statues and flowering shrubs, which has little changed since the days when Empress Sissy roamed its paths alone. Visit the chapel within the Palace and see a collection of souvenirs connected with Elisabeth of Austria and Emperor William of Germany who bought the Achillion in 1906.
Later arrival on the west part of the island into the picturesque area of Paleokastritsa. Here there is the monastery of Virgin Mary which was founded in the 13th century, but there is little to been seen today which is more than 200 years old. Inside however, the modern building is an excellent example of Greek monastic architecture. There is an arched inner courtyard, and a small museum with Byzantine and post-Byzantine icons. The view from the Monastery is superb, with in the foreground the boat of Odysseus (Kolovri). Free time for lunch and swimming or exlore by boat the magnificent coves and the caves with crystal waters. Afterwards the tour takes you in one of Corfu’s enchantingly colourful villages, Lakones from which one of the finest panoramic views in Europe may be enjoyed. At the end visit to the byzantine Castle Angleokastro. It is located at the top of the highest peak of the island's shoreline in the northwest coast near Paleokastritsa and built on particularly precipitous and rocky terrain. It stands 1,000 ft (305 m) on a steep cliff above the sea and surveys the city of Corfu and the mountains of mainland Greece to the southeast and a wide area of Corfu toward the northeast and northwest.
